Volunteer Summit: Trekking to the Top

Are you ready to trek to the top of the hill in Fayetteville for the Arkansas Alumni Association's 2007 Volunteer Summit? We are ready for you to make that journey and hope you have been saving the date! We have put together an exciting agenda for this historic gathering of all the Association's volunteer leadership. Representatives from our Board of Directors Executive Committee, chapters, societies, young alumni board and student alumni board will be on hand to learn more about the Association and how they can help us in "Trekking to the Top."

IMPORTANT: If you need assistance in securing lodging for the weekend, please notify us immediately! We have a variety of hotel options available in Fayetteville (Holiday Inn Express, Cosmopolitan, Sleep Inn and Red Roof Inn) and we have begun releasing some rooms and our last date to hold a room for you is August 29th.

Our preliminary agenda is online for your reference. We now have early registration online and available by phone at 1-888-ARK-ALUM or you can download the registration form and fax it in.

As a reminder, dress for the summit will be business casual on Friday and Razorback attire will be encouraged on Saturday. Please refrain from bringing a current student (or underage individual) to the Chancellor's Society Reception on Friday evening.

Young Leader Travel Assistance Grant

To further promote the leadership development of young alumni (those who have graduated within the last ten years), the Young Leader Travel Assistance Grant provides a limited amount of financial support to a handful of young leaders to attend the Volunteer Summit in Fayetteville.

Driving Directions from I-540

• Take Exit 62 (Farmington and University of Arkansas sign, Hwy 62, 16, 180)
• Turn east onto Sixth Street.
• Keep going straight on Sixth Street until you reach the Razorback Road stop light.
• Take a left onto Razorback Road.
• Take the first right onto Leroy Pond Road (you will pass by Bud Walton Arena sitting on the left hand side)
• At the stop sign, take a left onto California Drive.
• When you come to the stop sign, continue straight, California Drive runs into Center Street.
• You will pass the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club on your right.
• Turn left onto Harmon Street (it will be your first street on the left at the top of a small hill).
• For event parking, turn into the Harmon Parking Deck on the right. (You can validate your parking at the registration table inside the Reynolds Center.)
