Freshman Scholarships
The Arkansas Alumni Association sponsors several types of scholarships for entering freshmen. The majority of these scholarships are merit-based and renewable through the senior year. Award amounts range from $500 to $5,000 per year.
Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
These four-year scholarships are awarded annually to two incoming freshmen through competitive review academic and extracurricular achievements with an emphasis on demonstrated leadership skills. The minimum eligibility requirements are a 3.60 cumulative grade point average and 24-36 ACT or 1090-1600 SAT scores.
Arkansas License Plate or Roads Scholarship
Funded by the revenue received from the sale of official Razorback Collegiate License Plates, these renewable $1,500 scholarships are awarded to in-state finalists in the Arkansas Alumni Association Scholarship Program.
Alumni Board of Directors Scholarship
Funded by alumni contributions, the Alumni Board of Directors Scholarships are awarded to out-of-state finalists in the Arkansas Alumni Association Scholarship Program.
Black Alumni Society Endowed Scholarship
With contributions from the University of Arkansas Black Alumni and friends, the University of Arkansas has established a four-year Black Alumni Society Endowed Scholarship.
Harriett Phillips Scholarship
The Harriett Phillips Scholarship is funded through a private donation from Mrs. Phillips. This one-year $1300 scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman who has overcome great obstacles in order to attend the University of Arkansas. The recipient is selected by Mrs. Phillips from applications submitted for the Arkansas Alumni Association merit scholarship program.
William D. and Sylvia C. Hoskins Scholarship
The William D. and Sylvia C. Hoskins Scholarship is funded by an endowment established by Mr. and Mrs. Hoskins. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman from Springdale High School majoring in criminal justice or a related field. Candidates must be Springdale High School graduates, have a 3.0 GPA, be admitted as degree-seeking students to the University of Arkansas and complete the Hoskins Scholarship application. Selection will be made by the executive director of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
