Executive Committee

The purpose of the Executive Committee is to serve as a special resource group for the standing committees of SAB. They will represent the board in public and campus relations and will deal with the administrative details of SAB. The executive committee will consist of the following officers: president, vice president of programs, vice president of member services and publicity, seven committee chairpersons and the advisor. The executive committee will serve a one-year term and will meet as needed to prepare for SAB meetings.

President

The president shall preside at all meetings, including the Executive Committee meetings and the GreatCom meetings. He/she communicates weekly with the advisor, oversees the actions of the committees and subcommittees, and initiates proposals and delegates responsibilities accordingly. The president shall motivate and encourage the leadership of the organization, while keeping records of participation points of all SAB members. The president will attend the Board of Directors meetings. The president will serve a one-year term and shall hold at least two office hours per week.

Vice President of Member Services and Publicity

The vice president of member services and publicity will assist the president in his/her responsibilities and will preside over SAB meetings in the absence of the president. He/She is an officer of the Executive Committee and shall maintain close communication with the SAB president and SAB advisor. The vice-president of member services and publicity will chair a committee responsible for initiation and coordinating the following areas:

  • graphics and design for SAB and R.E.A.L. Razorbacks
  • e-newsletter for R.E.A.L. Razorbacks
  • membership events promotion for SAB and R.E.A.L. Razorbacks
  • photography

The vice president of member services and publicity will serve a one-year term and shall hold at least two office hours per week.

Vice President of Programs

The vice president of programs is an officer of the Executive Committee and shall maintain close communications with the SAB president and SAB advisor. The vice president of programs will oversee the four program areas of SAB:

  • Homecoming
  • Teacher Appreciation Banquet
  • Red Carpet day
  • The Official Graduation Party

The vice president of programs will attend committee meetings and stay current with the progress of the above mentioned programs. He/She may assist and give input with the decision making for SAB programs. The vice president of programs will serve a one-year term and shall hold at least two office hours each week.

Committee Chairpersons

The committee chairpersons are the leaders of each of the committees and will plan the event with the help of their committee. Chairpersons also have the power to delegate tasks to committee members and do so regularly in order to involve their committee members. There are two chairpersons for each of SAB's standing committees. The six committee chairpersons are as follows:

  • Homecoming chairman
  • Faculty Appreciation Banquet chairman
  • Grad Finale chairman
  • Red Carpet Day chairman
  • Chairman of publicity
  • Chairman of R.E.A.L. Razorbacks

Advisor

The advisor is a graduate assistant for the Arkansas Alumni Association (AAA). He/She works with the AAA staff and is the link between SAB and the AAA. His/Her job is to be a resource for the Executive Board Committee and to help them when needed. The advisor gives SAB guidance and direction when planning and executing the events. The advisor also represents SAB and the AAA in campus wide committees.
