Law Alumni Society
Founded in 2002 by alumni and friends of the University of Arkansas School of Law, the society is a chartered organization of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
The society operates under the guidelines of a constitution and bylaws approved by the Arkansas Alumni Association.
The Law Society exists to promote communication and friendship among alumni, faculty and friends of the law school by providing a forum for information exchange through organized events and other activities; to assist in maintaining and improving the quality of legal education at the law school; to promote projects designed to assist the law school in the establishment, development and maintenance of an alumni relations program for all alumni of the law school; and to help provide students with a course of study that will most effectively prepare them for the expanded roles they will be called on to play in community, national and world affairs.
The society's purpose shall be:
- To foster communication among alumni, former and present students, faculty and friends, through special invitations to events, publications and other activities
- To perpetrate and foster friendship and goodwill among its members
- To promote activities that would help recognize the importance of the law profession within the law school
- To act as a conduit for the interchange of dialogue between the Law Society and law school
- To foster the development and maintenance of current and future scholarships and other assistance programs
- To support efforts in recruitment of qualifies students to the law school
- To provide a timeline for yearly special events hosted by the Law Society and/or the law school
Law Alumni Society Membership Eligibility
You are eligible to join the Law Alumni Society if you are:
- A graduate of the law school
- A former student of the law school
- A friend of the law school who desires to pledge support to the society
- A faculty/staff member
- Graduating seniors automatically have one year's active membership in the Law Society
