Rocky the Razorback sits proudly on the grounds of the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House. Rocky has his origins in the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture's Strawberry Substation at Bald Knob, Arkansas. The 19,000-pound limestone Razorback and his stone football are the creation of Orville Skaggs. Mr. Skaggs carved the sculpture out of limestone found at the Strawberry Substation at the request of Elbert Baker (BSA '71 MS '76), Mr. Skaggs' son-in-law who was the resident director of the substation at the time. The Razorback sculpture was completed in 1980 and resided at the Strawberry Substation for the next 20 years. The station closed in 1994 and Rocky was relocated to his new home at the JYH Alumni House in 2000.
