Understanding of Expectations
These expectations were formulated by board members as a guideline for future boards.
Members of the Arkansas Alumni Association's Board of Directors:
- Are committed to the vision, mission, and values of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
- Serve terms of office for three years without expectation of a second term.
- Are expected to attend board meetings at selected sites and actively serve on assigned committees.
- Actively participate in board and general alumni functions including Alumni Awards Banquet and Alumni Scholarship activities.
- Represent the University and association in his/her local community, informing others of our mission, goals, activities, and needs.
- Offer unique personal expertise or interest to benefit the association using appropriate talents and influence to its development.
- Demonstrate original thinking and offer fresh ideas and viewpoints.
- Accept an obligation of involvement with a local alumni chapter, including the recruitment of students, development of scholarships, and location and maintenance of alumni addresses.
- Support Association auxiliary programs including Alumni House Campaign, Hog Tag License Plates, Razorback VISA, tours and road trips.
- Thoughtfully consider individuals deserving recognition by the Alumni Awards Program and/or identify responsible alumni to serve on future boards.
- Carry out obligations as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Alumni Association, and, if unable to do so, give notice and resign.
