The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, requests nominations and applications for the following positions:

Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations
The Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations helps to plan and works to implement the University's fund-raising priorities and institutional advancement activities. This position reports to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and is part of an overall university advancement program. The Assistant Director of Development's primary responsibility is to secure private sector funding and to foster relationships for the University and coordinate corporate and foundation fundraising initiatives for David and Barbara Pryor Center for Oral and Visual History. Director of Development Fay Jones School of Architecture
The Director of Development helps to plan and works to implement the school's fund-raising priorities and institutional advancement activities. As a member of the university development team, this position reports to the Executive Director of Development and Principal Gifts and the Dean of the Fay Jones School of Architecture. The Director of Development's primary responsibility is to secure private sector funding and to foster the development of alumni relations. The director will play an important role as the major gift officer in planning for and executing the school's component of the comprehensive, university-wide fundraising program. The Director of Development also supervises the development office and all fund raising activities at the Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas. [learn more]

T. A. Walton named the Managing Director of NCREPT Facility

Trent Avery Walton will assume the position of Managing Director of the facility on March 15, 2009.

T. A. Walton was Valedictorian and Class President of his graduating high school class of 1977 from Forrest City High School. He entered the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in the Fall of 1977. He received his B. S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the U of A Fayetteville as a National Merit Semi-Finalist and Achievement Scholar.

As a graduate student T. A. was an R. C. Edwards Graduate Fellow, National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow, DuPont Graduate Fellow and performed additional graduate work at Clemson University after completing his Masters at Arkansas. A little thing many will not know about T. A. is that he was 3rd place Heavyweight Division Intramural Boxer in 1979 and the Intramural Campus Shot Put Champion that same year.

Prior to his 23 year career with Procter & Gamble (P&G), T. A. worked for W. R. Grace in their Cryovac Division (Now known as Sealed Air) as a Research & Development Engineer, Meat Bag Development and for E. I. DuPont Photo Products Division as an Engineer, Process Control.

T. A. recently retired from P & G as a Group Manager – Human Resource Systems Improvement Leader. Prior experience with P & G includes: Wal-Mart Global Customer Team Senior Account Executive; Wal-Mart Global Customer Team HR Manager & Work Process Improvement Leader; Site Work System/OE Manager; Paper Making Production System Owner; ER/OD Manager; Plant HR Manager, Safety & Quality Assurance Leader; Oils Deodorizer/Cost Inbound Quality Manager and Frosting Making/Angel Food Packaging Manager.

T. A. has received numerous certifications and special training throughout his career. He is also the recipient of many awards and recognitions, including the Augusta, GA Chronicle Father of the Year Award, Rotary International Eagle Volunteer Award and the 2006 Northwest Arkansas MLK Committee Individual of the Year Award. He is active in church and community work and, along with his wife Vivian and Sister Sheila, sponsors a University of Arkansas Black Alumni Freshman Scholarship Fund.
